Superheroes with Style
In the 1990s, X-Men: The Animated Series and Batman: The Animated Series were hugely popular. Both had evocative opening sequences – dark and moody for Batman, colorful and energetic for the X-Men. One interesting aspect is the lack of textual information both sequences: X-Men introduces the names of the main characters, but none of the show’s actual crew; Batman has no text whatsoever, not even the title of the show. Instead, the intros were focused purely on creating mood and setting the stage for the adventures to come.
